The AutoX3D 3D Printer

AutoX3D 3D Printer
An ambition to offer professional grade 3D printing machines at consumer prices.

Last week 3DrintWise caught up with David Borden of AutoX3D Robotic Systems. A company based in the Philippines who are launching their 3rd generation of professional grade 3D printers.

For the last 6 months David has assembled a team of engineers, marketing professionals and suppliers to build the next generation of 3D printers. One aimed at delivering the quality and robustness needed by the professional 3D printing market. However, the price of the AutoX3D Mod 3, 3rd Generation machine at $3300 is more inline with the price of consumer based offerings. A little stretch over the familiar range of 3D printers but you get a lot more for the money including full telephone support.

The next generation of light industrial 3D Printers

This is what David had to say,

“AutoX3D has a unique position in the logistics and manufacturing world here in South East Asia. We are close to China for electronic component supply and we also have a lot of local engineering talent in the Philippines. People who know all about building quality products for commercial use at reasonable prices.”

“Our new 3D printer is designed and built as a pro-user machine. Made from heavy plate steel, CNC lasered and CNC bent, it has more in common with industrial machinery than with the present crop of 3D printers aimed at consumers. Dare I say many of those are flimsy and are being built with poor quality mechanical and electronic components. Utilizing expertise from a local industrial automation company, we have set up a system to manufacture in quantity and quality. That is how we are getting the price down for an industrial grade 3D printing machine. We have finalized arrangements for production, parts suppliers, distribution, shipping and customer service.”

David continues,

“We have designed our 3D printers knowing our end user is going to be that engineer who needs a 3D print produced to a deadline. They expect, their machine to work first time and every time. When a pro-user needs an item made, they do not have time to tune and tweak it so it works. They are not playing. It just has to turn on and run without failure. To do this, our 3D printers have been designed in such a way that many of the variables are eliminated. Using CNC machined aluminum parts, CNC lasered parts, bearings on all moving parts including the front door and quality electronics, we have built the next generation of light industrial 3D printers.”

Here are the main specifications for their new machine:
